The other day, my school lost a very special boy, he had many friends and was loved by many. Although I did not personally know Sean, it broke my heart when I heard the news Friday afternoon. One of my best friends used to be very close to him during middle school and it broke my heart to see not only her, but so many others in pain. I caught myself with watering eyes a few times because I can’t imagine how hard that must be for his family.
It is just so weird to think that Thursday he was just like any other kid, going to school, hanging out, and the next he got into his accident, Continue reading
My English teacher has recently introduced a new class discussion to us, in which he calls “BRAWL.” There are several groups and someone from each group sits in the “inner circle,” where the teacher will then ask them questions that he had provided to them in order to answer. Each person is only allowed one answer and two replies to someone elses answer, which someone people it is no problem to get, but others Continue reading
My English class recently started reading “The Counte of Monte Cristo” and as soon as I got the book, I said, “Oh great, another boring English book.” I started reading this book and I actually got into it, I really enjoyed the first few chapters and continued to read. I loved the story of drama and revenge and can’t wait to read the rest of the book.
I also recently read the book, “Divergent,” and heard that it was amazing. I always have a different opinion on popular books than most people do, and most of the time they are overated and aren’t my type of book. As soon as I got into the first few chapters, I couldn’t put the book down. Continue reading
We all go through some tough times, and don’t know how we are gonna make it through sometimes. We have relatives that pass, we lose friends and boyfriends or girlfriends, we make bad decisions. Some of us think the world is gonna end and that we will never make it through this situation. What we all need to learn is that, some things can Continue reading
Today in English, my teacher showed us a Ted talk video about a young teenage boy who come up with his own way to find his ingenious detector for pancreatic cancer. After testing his theory, it worked and it was a success.
This really inspired me because he came up with such an amazing way to help find out if someone is to have pancreatic cancer at such a young age. It shows that you don’t have to be a certain age to do something great. Take some chances and try out your ideas, the worst that could happen is that they won’t work out, but at least you tried!
Valentine’s day is coming around the corner. Whether you have a significant other or not, you often receive gifts regardless and it is kind to give a gift in return. Now the stress of deciding what to give someone is what really is scary. I know with my boyfriend, I never know what to get him because he is so shy about saying what he wants. Ladies listen up, what I have learned lately is that guys don’t care how much you spend on them or how nice the gift is. Guys honestly really love that you like them enough to get them a gift, it is the thought that counts.
Now getting presents for friends is not that much different, they like the fact that they just got a gift in general. Get them their favorite candy and a stuffed animal, or a little flower and a small gift. If it was me, I would really love anything someone got me.
Oh the stress of finals, the studying, the freaking out, the nervousness. Trust me, we all go through it, but you just have to be calm about it. Take a week before to start making study guides and flash cards, so you are not cramming the night before. Then a few days before each test, start studying and even have your family quiz you and make sure you know all the information. Take breaks, eat junk food, listen to music, make some time for yourself too so you are not overwhelmed. GOOD LUCK AND STUDY HARD.
